Rear tires pulsing noises - Now fresh RE050s
In the recent days my rear tires have been making pulsing noises on the freeway. I suspected something was wrong with my tires or alignment. After a quick cursory visual inspection I didn't notice anything.
Yesterday I decided to pull into Costco and this is what they showed me. Both rear tires showing cords on the inside. I'm a little shocked I missed it on my inspection.
Since the cars don't come with spares I had ordered a set of RE050s (anticipating a situation like this) and waiting for me.

Don't beat yourself up over it, this happens all the time. I get several calls a month from people who are in your exact situation. As you know, the way the rear of the car sits over the tires, you have to be virtually laying down and have a flashlight to see it. Quick inspections don't catch it on these cars.
Negative camber is a beautiful thing, isn't it!!!

I put four new RE050 on this past weekend and had an alignment done on Monday. There are a couple of good alignment threads going on right now with opinions on where to set camber and toe front and rear. I have the before and after readings on my car and it drives totally different with the new settings. Doing the research on the settings that I thought would work for me and working with a dealer who has the knowledge, properly calibrated alignment rig and personnel was key.

I failed to mention that one of my lug bolts is missing from the wheel. The last time I checked them was my track day a couple months ago.
I called the dealership and they are 17 bucks a piece!!

Your wear is normal. These cars are set with negative camber. If you drive the car more aggressively you can balance out the wear a bit more across the entire tread. This is just normal 911 tire life.

That's absurd. Suncoast sells them for $6.50 a pop. I just recently bought four so I could get rid of the annoying locking ones.
