Default 997.2 Aerokit Cup question

Can someone clarify for me...

regarding the rear wing that comes with the new Aero, is it a bolt on piece that fits on the existing engine cover? or is it an altogether new part, new cover with wing?

I am asking because i want to fit an aerokit but i want to keep the option to reverting back to the old look, so i dont want to destroy the existing cover/wing.

If its the first option (bolt on) does it permanently destroy the existing cover in order to fit it?

Almost positive that, like the 997.1, the engine cover that comes with the 997.2 aerokit pkg replaces OEM engine cover.

I am thinking about it, but I want the 997.2 wing. I like it better than the 997.1 GT3 wing.
You need the front spoiler to go with the rear.
Does the kit have skirts and are there skirts?

I think you will unbalance the car at speed if you do not match the f/r aero

You will also need to de activate your current automatic rear spoiler alarm. The spoiler will want to automatically rise once you reach 75 mph. Sensors will throw an error code on dash, along with a beep. Dash will beep again when you slow below 75. Total PITA at DE days. My dealer would not do mine. Not a problem for me because wifey took that car away from me. (and drives it as hard as she can at autocross)

You cant install the aerokit on the current decklid, you have to exchange it, presumably the dealer would/should reprogram the car when installing the cup aerokit to deselect the power decklid?

Correct, need full kit, not just wing. My dealer would NOT re program the car. My tuner has the stuff to do it, too lazy to take the car there.

MA Shaw rear wing and GT3 RS front bumper cover. Did most of the work myself in 07, had the parts painted by a local body shop.
New GT3 RS almost copies the green mouth that I did.

very nice indeed! ... it sucks that your dealer would not re-program the car, especially since this is an option should you have the OEM aerokit installed ... so it is a "simple" option to reconfigure via the PIWIS

lucky the tuner had the technology!

That price is not all that bad. I think I paid a bit less when I did mine in 07. MA Shaw rear wing and got the front clip from Suncoast. Need to have a good body shop paint everything before putting it back on the car.

I guess its "each to his own" ... its "no worse" say than a factory 997.1 GT3RS in black/orange highlights/decals ... and clearly the owner likes it ... which is what counts.
