It is odd but a local Indy was telling me he did 2 997 clutches in the last week and the dealer told me he was out of stock on the parts because they had done 3 the previous week. Several accounts of pressure plates causing uneven wear.

Sounds to me like a problem! Mine was covered through CPO but I would have been pissed if I had opened up the box to find a failed component and didn't jar coverage. It's a $2500 job!

My dealer was out of parts too so still waiting. They've (Annapolis Porsche) been excellent though other than making me drive a Toyota Corolla to drive!

I had a mitsubishi outlander. I tried explaining that it wasn't a car snob thing, just that it really isn't enjoyable to drive that car/SUV. I didn't buy a 911 to get from point A to B, I bought it because of the way it drove. A boxster or cayman or even cayenne would have been nice considering it took 2 frikken weeks to get it all done.

Do you have a teenage son and leave town frequently?
