The door panel has an inner panel. You may be sticking your tool into the wrong slot. Don't go so deep. If you slide your tool in behind the inner panel, you will bend it... it is metal. They do pop.

When you do get the panel off.... make sure to reset the clips. Some will reset, others not. I keep a bag of spares... they are pretty touch and can handle a removal or two.

Peace

Do you have a good picture? The videos and the picture above are too dark and small. It looks like there might be two panels - the inner metal one you are talking about, and a plastic one that the carpet and exterior parts are mounted to. I probably already destroyed the door inards, but it has to come off.

post mortum - destroyed about 5 clips and their molded holders on each door. The fuggers did not want to pop off. I had two buddies over and we were finally able to pull the skins. It took all of us to get them off. This is an easy job if it goes according to plan. Like so many of these jobs, it doesn't

Anyway, I'll pop it back in with what I've got. I do have some extra generic brand door snaps, which I will use in the slots that are not broken. We'll see if I get any rattles. BTW, my speakers were all blown - the mid-range and the woofers in both doors.

here's the left over carnage:

Those skins do not just pop right off.

For those of you who need to replace the door spear/door handle trim/door panel finisher (many names) there is a great instruction on Planet9:

Tried finding the link shared and it appears gone now. Does anyone know if anyone else did a DIY for the door spears? Seaching everywhere with no luck.

Pops straight out from the bottom of the spear and then slide up to release from the plastic ear. Take your time and be very careful.
not sure of that’s for me but I’m looking for the diy on how to replace the spears that are attached to the door, not the window switch area. I’ve seen online that you have to almost destroy the existing ones and then need to melt the new ones on. Seems like a difficult task considering. I can’t find anything online with step by step or video tutorial.
