13,000+ miles and 15 track days on my 2009 Carrera S and no rattles.

Interesting. Mine doesn't feel loose at all. But when there's no one in the passenger seat, the sport bucket seat back shakes on rough roads and that leather loop vibrates against the seat and makes a noise. Foam tape on the backside of the strap where it was contacting the seat fixed it.

997.2 C4S PDK Coupe launch car. 14,200 mi. DD. Only one occasional noise at the rear from what I suspect to be the engine compartment, or possibly the sub enclosure...Sort of a plastic/metal sound, like a loose wiring harness/loom ...at first thought the engine was pinging ( later was found to be doing so but had nothing to do with the rattle )...either way, is intermittent. The car is great!

Some cars rattle and some cars don't. I test drove a 997.2 PDK when it first came out, it had creaks from around the dash area. My car on the other hand has no rattles and I am very glad. My M3 has a lot more rattles and creaks which have greatly reduced my enjoyment of that car.

Have rattles, will travel.
The sunroof is a notrorius cause of rattles in these cars and Porsche has a "fix" for it under warantee but it didn't work for me.
There are other sources of rattles in these cars as well. And there is no excuse for this in a 100 K vehicle.

2009 CS2 pdk here. No rattles or noises other than the sunroof. The sunroof is a bit annoying when you go slowly over uneven pavement like the transition from a sloping driveway to the street. It is a rubbing noise that occurs when the body flexes causing the roof panel to move against it's sealing gasket.

'06 997.1 here, and also no rattles so far. The passenger seatback does vibrate slightly when no one's in it, although not an issue to me since it's more of a muted buzzing than a rattle. It's a gentle reminder of the beast lurking underneath. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Compared to the 996 I had before, now that was a rattle trap!

Heres one for you all...any comments on the noises made by the air conditioning when switched on? I get an odd sound that I can best describe as a dull metal scraping sound. This'll sound wild but it reminds me of a snowplow truck plowing a winter street in the distance?! Might be a bearing. Question is...should it be perfectly silent? Thanks!
