Default Dension GW500 with iPhone4 ?

Wondering if any of you lucky chums in the US with new iPhone4's have successfully paired with a Dension GW500 - particularly for handsfree but also for A2DP streaming ?

I read that there are some problems with PCM3 cars. It is unfortunate that Apple seems to be tweaking an interface they sold to car manufacturers as their standard.

The iPhone 4 will stream, as will the iPhone 3Gs...through the bluetooth audio function on the GW500.

'03 through '08 cars only though.

The other problem is that we are becoming aware that Apple screwed with the connector, and now many devices that iPod and iPhone products worked with may not work the same. Go figure.

Hi Eric - did you get to see it working first hand or is that just what you expect to happen ? With the Bluetooth sync issues people are reporting on the iPhone4 I'm a little concerned. Been burned once with my older Blackberry not working with the Dension Bluetooth so don't want that to happen again ...

I had no issues pairing or docking at all. Still have not tried to stream though.

I just got an Iphone4 and the pairing was successfully with my Dension Gateway/Bluetooth (bought and installed in September 2010) setup and the PCM screen shows the phone and active calls but there is no sound. Any recommendations?

I have a 3gs and it paired fine and streams music fine and also makes calls fine but when I first tried to receive a call when streaming, it didn't come through the speakers. The second time, again when streaming, it worked perfectly! I have no idea what's going on but wait half a day and try again - you may get different results.

I just completed installation of the GW500 and BTA1500 BT module from the last GB. My iPhone 4 paired with BTA1500 instantly, no issues. I've yet to try A2DP audio streaming over BT from the iPhone 4 but suspect it would work just fine . . .

Thanks Eric, I'm not sure what you mean. Can you elaborate? DW

I have the GW500 and BTA1500 with an iphone 4. Mine also works very well with the bluetooth, both phone calls and Streaming Audio. However, the streaming audio quality isn't that great. I also had to adjust the gains for the bluetooth using the ***12 and ###8 to get the phone call audio working well. Overall I am very pleased with the performance. I keep my old classic under the frunk and use it for music, so I don't need to stream audio with the BT anyways.

I've got the iphone4 paired to the BTA and have streamed music through A2DP. But after I leave the car and come back later, I cannot get it to re-pair. It just says "In-Progress" after I hit the forward arrow.

Is there something special that needs to be done to get the phone to re-connect?

Thanks!
