Default Sirs

I have a 997 alarm issue. today getting gas, lock up, walk in and pay, while i am inside alarm starts going off. visiting a relative, alarm going off in the drive way. i am looking thru the owners manual now, but is there a way to not set the alarm and simply just lock the car? i tried to lock the car manually w the key but the red button light began plinking on the center dash.

also anyone have this problem, where alarms goes off for no reason?

many kind thanks.

Do you have everything closed? Including the glovebox, trunk?

yes Sir, i have noticed that the key is extra sensitive, for instance if its in my pocket and i lean a certain way sitting, it will lock, unlock the car. perhaps i set off the alarm by having the key in my pocket, who knows. just dont want the alarm going off attracting attention.

The issue (premature release) was more common on the MY05 cars. What year is your 997?

Ninjas trying to jack your car.
Happened to me once. I had to kick their asses.
Too bad there's a million zillion of them. Took forever.

I have had this a few times with my car - again just recently. In the garage, usually at night - alarms jumps into action. Nothing at all going on - could be a fly or mosquito????. I unlock, re-lock and doesn't happen again for months.

seems legit that a fly could have gotten in there, but i cant imagine that one would set the alarm off?

so there is no way to lock the doors and not set the alarm?
