I'm trying to decide between these two tires, does anyone have an opinion? I have an 07 C2S. If I go RE-11 I have to go to 305 rears. Any opinions would be appreciated, they're roughly the same price.

RE050 N1 supposed to be better than N0. As it's N-rated tire and RE-11 not N-rated, I'd go for RE-050A.

If you track or Auto X the car go with the RE-11. If it is a street only car go with the N Spec REO50A N1.

Both are excellent.

For highway/primary road use the RE050A's are hard to beat for wear resistance. I replaced my rears at 26k miles and the fronts are going strong. BTW, I plan on replacing my PS2's with RE-11's within the year for a change of pace.

RE11 is not weight rated for rear use in 997s.

My current RE-11s are, for me, much better tires than my prior OEM PS2 and P-Zero. They grip, turn in, stop and go better than the Michelin and Pirelli OEM tires I've had on my two 997s. It's a really good tire, one of the best I've ever had on my cars.

RE11 is #1 ranked tire in Extreme Performance Summer category on TireRack.

RE050A is 17th ranked tire in Maximum Performance Summer category on TireRack.

Both are available in 305/30/19 and 235/35/19

I have the RE11's on now. Switched from PS2's which were great, but $400/set more.
I have only put 1,000 mi on the new ones, but so far they're as good on street and 1 track day.

I've read nothing but good things about the RE-11. Reviews on the RE050A are mixed.

Correct.....to a point....there are 2 305/30/19 with different load ratings as pointed out in the post by swajames. The RE11 speed rating is designated as a (W) speed rating of 168mph. Porsche N Spec tires and other non N spec tires in the correct sizes adn load ratings have a (Y) speed rating of 186mph.

All the N spec Porsche 19's tires have a max load of 1764 for 295/30/19 and 1874 for 305/30/19. The 18" that come on the standard Carrera have a max load range of 1819lbs.

The RE11 Bridgestone max load rating is 1653 which is well below what Porsche specs out. Also the RE11 does not have the Y speed rating...it has a W speed rating. However there is a 102Y rated RE11 now so make sure that is the tire you purchase.

The tires I use at the track Toyo RA1 or R888 305/35/18 have a max load of 1819lbs. These are right in the range or the mx load range for rear tires according to Porsche Spec.

Ah....I see that now...that did not come up when I was looking at them...excelent point I will correct my post.

However the speed rating on the RE11 is up to 168mph and does not match the higher (Y) speed rating of 186mph on N Spec tires.

Please post your impressions. I am in the same situation (currently on RE050s) and the RE-11s look attractive. I figure I'll have to swap mine out in the fall.
