WOW! What a car! Its sound is intoxicating! and it's gorgous... not to mention SUPER FAST!
Not sure if I would pick this (GTO), or the 458, as I saw the 458 in Nurburgring and it sure is one of the best looking cars ever made!
As for Porsche vs. Ferrari... they're both GREAT cars and I don't think any car lover can dismiss one over the other.

Note: this is written high up on the Sierra Nevada, after a day of sublime, alpine twisty, high octane Porsche roads.

They are intoxicating--but Tony is right. It's hard to leave a car that will continue to run year after year. But one of these isn't bad, either! (612)

I love the 612,the service bills and the fact that I drive my car are deal breakers.

I quite like the GTO. It looks better than the 599.
I've always found the 612 to be to big. Prices in these 4 seaters haven fallen a lot.
the 458 Italia is the best looking F car since the 355.

At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, when I went to the Exotics driving school a few weeks ago, I asked several of their instructors about their preferences and they mostly had the same opinion: when they get out in the mornings to warm up, they all go for the 911S. They consider it to be the most fun and involved car in their fleet -- which included Lambos, Ferraris, Aston, and R8.
I personally don't like the styling direction Ferrari has taken in the last few years. I thought the 355 and the 430 were very nice designs, but I don't really like their newest stuff. Of course, it's all personal and subjective.

Have you ever been in one on a track? I was lucky enough to be in F430, Gallardo, Ford GT, and SLR on track and I can tell you that ALL were amazing cars, with quite a few differences between them all!
I love to have THEM ALL in my stable along side the 911...

The Ferrari dealer is less than 5 miles from my house, but I like my Gallardo (granted it has many mods including it is now RWD) as much as any Ferrari I owned. I was once brainwashed by the so called Ferrari mystic, well I am now cured, and see them as just another car, no magic powers, no soul (the most foolish statement I've ever heard made about a car) and the funny thing is that my company suppys FNA with certain things and they are well aware that the brand is what it is because of these things. I'm not saying that there are not great cars, some are, but, well I'll stop now.
