Default Question for cabrio owners

Hey,

Just a quick question for the cabrio owners on the board. Do your buddies give you a hard time for owning a cabrio? Everytime I mention wanting to get a cabrio instead of a coupe, my buddies ALL start making fun of me, calling it a womans car, etc etc. What's the deal with that anyways?

Get new friends!

To answer your question: No, never heard of that. Do they have Porsches or is it a form of jealousy?

Ridiculous! They are definitely not Porsche owners! Just smile and say you wish you had one (because they do). The green eyed monster is alive and well!!

They laugh until they've gone for a ride in it and realize their GF's prefer riding in your car.

I drive a cabrio for the same reason that I drive a manual.
A PDK coupe may be faster, but (for me at least) a manual cabrio is more fun!

A Porsche should be convertible. Hard top owners are missing out on a whole lot of fun.
Get a CAB, install a SmartTOP, start putting the top down while walking your friends out to the car, they'll shut up quick.

The sound at 5-6000 RPM, the different smells driving through the back road (like on a motor cycle), the visability, the sound.....
Ain't nothin' like it!

I'm far too ugly to want to show my face to the public in a CAB.

What is better than driving with the top down and enjoying this?

Remind your ignorant buddies that very first Porsche was a roadster--no top. I have mostly owned coupes but when I moved back to Santa Barbara I wouldn't have it any other way. I have found that I drive with the top down more than I ever thought I would.

I'm a cab person all the way and if/when I ever encounter anyone who would care to eschew why I should own a coupe, I say "who cares what you want"! Like PVP997 says "are you kidding, SoCal and the top down" what could be better. Tell you buddies --- INDEED the cab IS a woman's car --- just look at all of the women drooling at the sight of it.
