Question for cabrio owners

Huh? There is some friggin' moron who would make fun of a Porsche 997 cab? They seriously need to get a life!

I'll admit that coupes look better from the outside.
However, the world looks better from the inside of a cabriolet!
Did you buy the car for you or for everyone else?

I guess my main concern is people making rude comments or, even worse, throwing things into the car while I'm driving. I live in kind of a hick city where everyone drives a lifted pickup truck. I know that I'm going to get quite a bit of negative attention in a car like that. I don't really care, I'm just worried that it might be an issue. I really don't want someone throwing a cigarette butt or empty coffee cup into my car.

I have a coupe and love it. Seriously thinking about a cab being the next one. It may be a little slower and a little heavier but in So Cal, its hard to beat open top driving.

My brother-in-law and I went to a coaching clinic together. On the way home my wife asked me to stop bu Whole Foods. We had to stop and ask a security guard for directions. Pulling away my brother in law says, "He so thinks we're gay"

Do you cab guys wear any hearing protection during highway jaunts? Seriously, that's my biggest annoyance/concern. With any car, I travel windows up on the highway. I spend more time on highways than surface roads.

With the side windows up and the wind deflector in place the roof-down cabin is a very tranquil place at highway speeds. There's way less wind noise and buffeting in a top-down 997 with the deflector in place than driving with either the sunroof open or a side window down in a coupe.

Strange, saw the movie It's Complicated last night & Alec Baldwin drove a 997 CAB, but always had the top up in every scene the car appeared in. It kept bugging the hell out of me, especially since the movie was filmed in Santa Barbara, what a waste.

love my cab - ventilated seats are a must with a cab...i would NEVER buy a coupe..i just love cruising with the top down and listening to the exhaust.
