Default 07 997S - price check fun - AZ

Here's another fun Price Check opportunity >

2007 997S with 3000 miles (yup that's 3K).
Located at a Ferrari dealer in Scottsdale.
Asking price $65K
Haven't checked the remaining warranty, probably 6 - 16 months.

Cobalt Blue with tan interior
The chrome wheels are a bit much for me!

Is anyone in Phoenix familiar with this car or this dealer?

Here are the specs;

* DVD-BASED NAVIGATION FOR PCM[670]
* PWR SEAT PKG[P15]
* METALLIC PAINT
* WHEEL CAPS W/COLORED PORSCHE CREST
* HEATED FRONT SEATS[342]
* SPORT CHRONO PKG[640]
* BOSE HIGH END SOUND PKG[680]
* 19" SPORT DESIGN WHEELS (CHROME - yuch!)
* SMOOTH LEATHER-WRAPPED 3-SPOKE STEERING WHEEL[XPA]
* 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
* XSC Porsche Crest In Headrest
* 692 Remote 6-Disc CD Changer
* CUV Storage Compartment Lid w/Model Logo
* ILLUMINATED STAINLESS STEEL DOOR ENTRY GUARDS

The local Penske people have this gdamn fetish with changing stock wheels to chrome, and then selling the new car with the chromed wheels. It's mostly BMW but they do it with their Porsches too.

I don't have any experience with that Ferrari dealer other than browsing there in person on Sundays. However, a buyer of a Ferrari may very well be trading in a relatively un-used 911, so that car may be a good example with little use on it.

I googled the VIN and came up with maybe 10 hits. Car's been offered for sale on eBay and by Penske and now this Ferrari dealer -- unless the Ferrari dealer is the Penske dealer too.

Price was $67.5K at the one link I followed.

Not a big fan of the chrome wheels. I'd like just standard Porsche wheels with the OEM finish but I guess if the car in good condition and if it pressed all my other buttons just right and the price agreeable I could live with the chrome wheels a while.

But I'm not buying the car, or thinking of buying the car. You are.

Your call.

If the price based on your research reasonable and if the car checks out ok and has warranty and if you well if you like it and can work out a deal I see nothing wrong with the car based on what I've had to judge the car by.

Nice color. A bit of a nice change from the more common black, silver and grey cars.

Good set of pics. I like left/right views side by side.

Sincerely,

Macster.

What happens to all the stock wheels from Phoenix?

I just bought a used Land Cruiser from a guy in Scottsdale, flew out, and drove it home. The first owner (before him) had a set of 22" momo's on it. The second owner put on some Tundra rims b/c he couldn't find any originals. Is everyone out there smitten with shiny things, or do the dealers do this?

I, too, cannot stand chrome wheels.

They look too much like what you would find on an Escalade, a god awful Pontiac of some sort, or a Corvette.

If it was $10k cheaper, I'd be all over that car! Love the colour combo...

And that's the question you have to ask yourself - I've been looking at similar cars and they are about $55k with about 25k miles so is the low mileage worth $10k?

I think the dealer "chromes them". I'm not sure how the process works but it is the same wheel.

This is the truth...if it comes here to AZ's Ferrari dealer; BLING BLING BEE-YACH!

That Ferrari dealership did the same to a gt3's wheels. Tasted a little puke in my mouth when I saw it.

Bad news with the chrome!

That's just sick and wrong. GT3 should not have chrome.

That's a FAIL, Tim. No place to hang them on the bow.
