Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

When I ordered the car, I hoped that the interior and exterior colors would work well together. Now that I have the car, I love it -- and I am glad that I am not the only one who likes the combination.

I was at Detailing Dynamics today dropping off the car so that they could apply 3M clear bra. I got into a conversation with Matt (one of the owners) about getting rid of the ugly yellow decals on the visors -- alas, there is no perfect solution other than ordering replacements from Germany -- and then we moved on to a discussion of the side marker lights.

I asked him to show me how to remove them. He did and popped in a clear one to see whether I liked it better. I wasn't sure. Then he suggested that I consider a smoked side marker. I'd never seen or heard of them but he offered to get one and show me. He got one and popped it in. The price was high ($150/pr.) but the look was fantastic. It looked so much better than either the clear or the yellow with my dark gray car that I ordered them.

Since the car is still at Detailing Dynamics, I can't post pictures but I thought that I should post a message here to share the information.

I know that there has been a lot of discussion here about replacing the side markers with partisans of both clear and orange taking strong stands. I couldn't make up my mind which looks better. I still can't ... and now I don't have to.

$150/pr for smoked color side markers is excessive. The clear ones should cost you $29 or so.

Congrats! Awesome color combo.

+1 on the Cocoa

Cocoa isn't very common, but makes for a very rich looking interior IMHO. I have Cocoa with Basalt Black, but I think it works even better with your Meteor Gray.

Rather than reply to everyone who sent good wishes or compliments, let me simply say to all of you, thank you very much.

I hope that some of the threads that I started or in which I participated will prove useful in the future to those with similar questions.

It's been a long slog (see, among others, my threads about choosing a color, getting an allocation and, much later, my elaborate tracking of the noble vessel Marina Ace) but I have the right car for me and I love it. I value the opinions of those who participate in this community and I am really appreciative of all your excellent advice and kind words.

Again, thank you all, very much.

Post the smoked markers when you get the car back. I would love to see how it gels with your meteorgray.
