On a standard seat, your legs and hips spread more laterally, it disperses the weight. In bolstered sports seats, you can't do that as much, you're legs are in a bit tighter, so more weight is on the spine. Lengthening the seat puts disperses more of the weight, onto the thighs.

Porsche seats are fairly long anyway, so sport seats are still fine I think.
But in recaro and bmw sport seats, nearly everyone extends their seat length!
Thanks for the explanation. I think I see what you mean. Large butts will compress the thighs and apply upward pressure on the spine. Fortunately I have no such issues. But, as you say, the Porsche seats are fairly long and upper legs are well supported.

My concern that it will be tight because I have an athletic build - 5'11" tall with 46" across the chest and 36" in the waist but have large quads from all the exercise.

For example I do fit in regular fit jeans but those slim fit or straight jeans, forget it. I cant even get them up my leg because of the quads. I buy XL shirts and usually have them taken in because if I dont they dont fit across my chest.

Some sports seats kill me in the thighs and I am concerned the wings on the shoulders will be tight as well. Size wise I fit in the car just fine, lots of room but I am wondering about those sport seats. I noticed not many cars have them in them. These are not the sport buckets, just the sports seats.

No big deal
Just give your location and find a member here within 100 miles of you who has sport seats and will let you sit in them.

.
Better try them. There's hope for you if you want them. I'm 195 6' and 38 waist (used to be 35-36 - got flabby ). When I dump all the air in the pneumatic bolsters I slide around the seats like they were bench seats. I heard or read ( or imagined? ) Porsche wants to sell cars to professional athlete$ so they factored that in when designing the all the seat choices which, when I was buying, they touted as the most ergonomic seats they ever produced.

I'm not half as sporty as you guys apparently (5'10", 240ish, 38" waist, 52 coat) and I fit in the sport buckets (yes, the GT2 seats) fine. It must be a matter of just how you are "spread out". I was honestly surprised I fit in them, and I am definitely glad I do. FWIW, I do NOT fit in the Euro GT3 seats (fixed back). They are a touch too narrow with my "large butt" per ADias.
