Default lurching when cold - 2010 997S

Pretty much every morning when i start my car cold, it lurches and sputters for maybe a minute and then it smoothes out and runs fine. Its only in the morning after its been sitting all night. It never happens later in the day, even if the car has been parked all day. This has been going on since I got the car new - I now have about 2000 miles. Anyone experience this?
Thanks

My PDK does the same thing. The car wakes up and does alot of computations before being ready to go.
If you hop in and take off with in seconds of turning it on, you will get that. I go out now turn it on let it run for a couple minutes while waiting on my son to get ready for school and we leave and its perfectly fine.

Yes, it's normal. The PDK is lurchy at low rpms's until engine is warmed. It needs a few min to get its act togther every morning...

I never experience that. Perhaps because I always idle all my cars for a minute or 2. I wait at least until the tach settles at the lowest idle RPM.

Takes about 400 yards for my PDK to smooth out. My old 6 speed 996 was also similar. I get in and go..

the manual on 997.1 says start the car and immediately drive...should e do the same with 997.2 w/ pdk?

ofcourse let it warm up before letting rpms get above 4k

Normally start up and get going within 30 seconds but I don't let the revs get above 3K until the oil temp is reading 90+

Hmmm. Not so with mine, and we're in the same weather region. If anything, we get more cold mornings than you do this time of year. I hadn't responded because I have a six-speed, not the PDK which was being blamed for this.

On the other hand, we do have our garage well back from the front property line and a front gate that requires manual opening. (Old-fashioned, I know.) I don't intentionally wait a couple of minutes before driving, but when I picture starting up, backing out and turning to leave forward, then stopping to open the gate and closing it afterward... yeah, that might be enough time to let the engine warm up enough to prevent stumbling.

Still, you might ask your dealer about it. Cold operation is a special mode of the engine management computer and one of your settings for that mode might be off.

Gary
