The synchros will now have to engage and spin up faster instead of a more gradual ramp up.. hence more wear.. I think that's what Erik meant..

The synchros aren't being asked to do any additional work, as they are still spinning at the same speed, in the same fluid, as before the ss install. Am I misunderstanding a concept here?
