There is no question that in purely objective terms, the C2S is the more practical vehicle to own as a daily driver. However, the GT3 is not about practicality. It is about emotion and feel. It is not for everybody. The only way to know if it is for you to is to drive one. If it doesn't ring your bell, then get the C2S. I went for emotion.

I did 997.2 GT3 to 997.2 C2S and don't regret the move. It's a difficult challenge to always want more. Prior to the 997.2 GT3 I had a 997.1 Turbo (2009), and prior to that, a 997.1 C2S Cab. I went through all of those cars in 1 year.

I thought 997.1 C2S cab < 997.2 Turbo < 997.2 GT3 -- while that may be true, it doesn't always mean one will get enough satisfaction from acquiring the next best car. After the GT3 I was thinking Merci, etc., etc. Never ends (for me at least).

This is $ independent. Even with infinite dollars, I made the right move enjoying the 997.2 C2S.

Was going to post new thread, but this is germaine:

I'm pretty settled that a DD used '06/'07 C2S is for me, but am looking to get more specific about how far I'd take it down the GT3 path for PCA Instructor use. I've been out of it for years, but had an '88 Carrera that was modded for handling. Things like shocks, wheels r-rubber, fabcar arms (-1.5 camber), camber ***** and an LSD made the car a different animal in a major way. So, I'm looking for a reference, or list-out of the most common suspension mods made to todays CS2 track cars. How much negative camber can a 997 achieve w/o 996 LCA's? I'm also wondering what the weight difference is between the C2S/GT3. Sorry if I didn't get the memo on where the link to all this stuff is.

..Part of the reason for a C2S would be two young kids that have a few years of fitting in back. Otherwise, I am totally unsure of whether getting back into P-land is a good idea for the family

Try some searches on my RonCT name in 997 and Racing DE. You'll find plenty of posts of suspension, brake, control arm, etc. modifications. A very capable car is a 997 C2S w/ GT3 control arms and rear toe links for camber and locking-in the street / track alignment, upgraded fluid (SRF), swap pads for the track, and a 2nd set of wheels / tires (I like 245/305 18" RA1s). Those alone will keep you happy for a very long time.
