Have a question on PSE option when building a 911s
#16
Hi there!
I would like to ask an additional question - My 997.2 has the PSE factory installed. So the flap is closing at certain speeds to meet european noise levels. For the 997.1 there was the "orange plug hack". In the engine compartment of the 997.2 I cannot find an organge plug - is there still an easy way to bypass the "mute mode"?
Thanks a lot! Bye, Stefan

If your 996/7 is equipped with the PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) system it quiets down between 45 kph and 75 kph (28-47 mph) to comply with strict Swiss noise abatement regulations

I assume that silencing for noise abatement is done electronically via the same circuit that is controlled by the "on/off" button in the dash. . If you "pull the plug" shown in the picture it disconnects that circuit. I know it works on my US car. At least it's worth a try on the Euro version.

Thanks a lot for you help guys - I will give it a try in the afternoon and report back later on.
Update: Yes, it works! Now it barks all the time - way to go. Thanks again, Stefan
