I got a check in engine light (solid not flashing) two weeks ago. Called dealer service and they asked me to wait and see if it cleared itself. It didn't so they looked at the car on Thursday. Said the fault was pressure in the gas system (loose fuel cap related?) and reset. Saturday the light reappeared, with only 10miles driving (and the fuel cap not touched) since the reset. I'll give them a call again tomorrow but would appreciate any insight board members might have. This is on an 09 C4S with 3300 miles. Thanks.

Could be due to overpressure and not lack of pressure that would arise from a loose or leaking gas cap.
Do you fill tank filler tube to the brim?
If so, don't.
Without the error codes can't offer much more. Best thing you can do is take the car in when the light's on again and have the codes read and interpreted by the dealer's service personel.
In a nice way make it clear you don't expect to have to keep running back to get the codes read and cleared. You expect the cause to be determined and fixed.
Update on this. Car is on way back to dealer. In the intervening week a further problem/symptom developed/surfaced. I added gas and neither the gas gauge nor the remaining miles indicator moved. Now the car registers empty and no remaining miles, even though there is fuel, and I have a solid CEL. The car runs fine otherwise. My guess is a sensor malfunction of some sort. Will update again when I know more.
I just chased down a CEL in my 05 C2... they replaced the fly wheel, saying it was out of balance and causing vibration.... it hasnt come back on since.
Car will go into the dealer again next week (third time). This time they will do a "smoke" test. They empty the gas tank and then look for leaks by filling it with "smoke". The theory is that a very small hole in the tank is leading to evaporation and then setting off the "evaporation sensor". Will keep you posted.
It's back..... Car sat at the airport for a week and then four days of driving later the solid CEL is back.
AARGH. Dealer is being very nice about trying to fix it but after three tries it still is not fixed. Will go in next week for the FOURTH time. Any suggestions?
