I'm just looking at the April 8th edition of the German Auto Motor und Sport magazine that has a news story about the 991. Here are the key quotes translated from German:
Porsche will replace the 997 with the 991 at the end of 2011. The key changes are a wider and longer wheelbase (plus 10 cm). Wider for less roll and longer for better driving dynamics and more room for the back seats. The proportions will change slightly. The driver seat is further forward and the front overhang will be shorter, but mainly the rear will get wider. The 991 will be lighter and is supposed to safe fuel with changed engine peripherals (e.g. electrical power steering) and a start-stop system. The most notable difference are the mirrors that are now attached to the door instead of the window triangle.

I hope u got the carbon backed seats, who knows what heavoc they can cause on the back leather of your seats. I am only 5'9" but sitting behind me? unless you have pool cues for legs I dont see it happening

Not to mention it looks ridiculous with four heads in a 911. Uncomfortable, unsafe, I remember in the late 70s my dads only car was a porsche (family of 5) I don't remember much, just that everytime entering the car my mom would yell at him for making such a poor decision on a car. She applied for her drivers license shortly after.

Just not so sure about "electrial power steering", will prbably take a lot of feel out the steering! Damn the environmtalists! How much weight saving can be had with this?!?!
Go with ALL Aluminium body and CF roof, CF rear to save more weight on the back... greener, lighter, faster! BUT, I assume that would impact their bottom line more than "ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING! "

This clip is proof, if I needed any, of the immense joy that Porsche's and kids bring.

I've had a full load in my cab (top down of course) a few times. That's what gives women "100 mph hair!" I like that final rendering in black. Subtle changes, but enough to make the 997 start to look dated.
