I forgot to mention that before buying it,I made the Porsche dealer put it on a ramp and I looked at it and had a really smart mechanic from Porsche spend about an hour with me explaining everything, including RMS issues on the 996 generation(they didn't occur on the 996 Turbo),the guy did a DME on the spot for me: ignitions in range 1 and very low ones in the range 2. That's it.

Thank you. I'm happy! I'm picking it up this coming Saturday,I can't wait! I didn't mention I went to that Porsche dealer for a 2006 C2S with CPO and this Turbo had just come in a day before, nobody knew about it,they didn't have time to post it on any website, otherwise I think it would've been gone right away! I'll post pictures after I pick it up...

Congrats on your new car!

If the tires are original, they need to be replaced regardless of tread depth. 8 year old tires are dangerous, at best.

Congratulations on the new Turbo !! Sounds like you did well. I enjoyed and learned a good deal from reading this thread. Now I want to get a DME on my left-over 997.2 just as a base-line. How much does this normally cost ?

They did a DME part of my PPI inspection. But if you have a local Porsche dealer where you've been before, just try to speak with a Service Advisor to have one of the mechanics put the computer on it. It doesn't take long,5 minutes and he doesn't have to print it out,he can just show you on the screen and explain real quick what it means. They shouldn't charge you for that, ask for it when you go in for any service,so they can see you spent some money. Good luck!

When my cars are in for the yearly oil change, prior to winter hibernation, I ask for a report, and have always received them for no charge from the dealership.
