I live 20 minutes from Stamford, and would even consider driving back and forth on the roads here, some of which are pretty hilly.
Stamford does a decent job plowing and if you are only driving in-town, then it won't be a big deal at all. Depending on how far you are from the office, there aren't even any real hills to speak of.
As others have said, true snow tires and you'll be fine.

C4S will definitely be an advantage in CT winters over the C2S. Keep in mind, however, that if you continue to run with summer tires (as all 997's are equipped), the benefits of four-wheel drive will be limited. I have a C2S with summer tires, and they're almost useless in the snow and not recommended below freezing temperatures to begin with. Best compromise if you plan to drive your 997 all year round, is to run all-season ultra performance tires. This will work quite well if you're not tracking the car or taking .9g turns. And, you'll probably double your tire longevity. For others, the thought of running all seasons on a 997 is a non-starter to begin with.
