The door sticker is for full load (4 people + luggage). The owners manual has 2 settings for full and partial load.
Partial load (2 people + light luggage):
997.1: F-33 PSI, R-39 PSI
997.2: F-34 PSI, R-40 PSI

I drive fairly hard around town, and found that my tires heated up significantly so, I started "lower" than the guidance, as I assume taht is for the average driver that simply moves around town. My cold pressures are 32F 37R, and find that I "heat up" to max of 40 in the rears, which is where you want to be works great for me

Helps to read...DUHHHH...just read the amber sticker to the left of the tire size/pressure sticker. It tells me the pressures on the right are for a fully loaded auto and to refer to the manual for partially loaded lower pressures for comfort. Cold fully loaded is 37/44. Mine came from the dealer at 33/39 and it's what I've maintained. Thanks for all the input and patience. It's a good thread though to see pressure preferences. Now that I have the pressures straight...how often am I supposed to balance my tires...never had a vehicle where I didn't do rotate and balance every 5k. Have an 09 C4S with OEM Michelins with 8,500 mi.

Hey mdrums....yah! that's about the only "real" turn in this crazy state. SO, I also have fun taking righht hand turns at 45 mph (when I can catch the lights!!) I miss california, with the easy to find twisties.....florida is BORING for a porsche!

Is 997 front tire pressure specced out as underinflated for nice-safe-boring-understeer like on older models? I found grip continued increasing on the skidpad as I added air in the front; I needed to add +8psi to eliminate rollover during hard cornering, while the rear pressure was virtually perfect as-is (dialed in for max grip, but poor tire life). When I increased front pressure, the understeer decreased considerably and the car became nice and neutral and a lot more fun in the twisties
