^ yes, I do know that IMS and RMS are different. Read the thread again...

I think the poster with the 07 s got his facts wrong. According the Jake Raby, the IMS bearing cannot be removed without a teardown. Also, again from Mr Raby, one cannot buy the IMS bearing by itself from Porsche. No way an IMS bearing replacement on a M97 cost $2K.

I take the mention of other M97 failures in the thread with a grain of salt as these cars did not belong to the people posting.
