Three Wheelin'
I have the 'Stones RE050's...love em great in the wet too, and miles ahead of the pirelli's can't beat the orice either, as those Michelin's are so dang expensive

Wow, based on the spider chart it looks like they invented the perpetual motion machine All gains, no compromises. New design and materials no doubt and I wonder what the cost differential will be.
Hard to see how that tread pattern is going to provide the same dry grip / braking -- appears like a significant reduction in footprint.
Doesn't look like any Porsche sizes in all of 2010...

I agree Ron. The PS3 looks more like a all season tread pattern than a Summer Performance tire. Had no problems w/ my PS2 is the wet. Would like to see how PS3 compares to the PS2 in the dry.

I know there's magic in modern compounds. The PS2 was so much better than the PS. But one would think there has to be a cost. The spider chart suggests they may not wear as long as a PS2 so maybe cost will be higher and they won't last as long...

Doesn't it look like Dry traction is a tad lower from that spider chart?

I expect that the PS3s in common P-car sizes are still being tested for the vaunted N-rating. Michelin has a habit of making one design of a tire in each size, and simply stamping N numbers on some of them. At Petite Lemans a few years back, a Michelin rep confirmed that there's no difference in construction between PS2s in p-car approved sizes with and without the N rating.

I don't think your statement is 100% accurate. Although I am not 100% sure about the difference between N-rated PS2 and non N-rated... there's proven difference with Michelin Cup N-rated, see below:

But I was replacing the shoes on my Boxster a few years back and wound up with some PS2s w/o the n-rating. A bunch of checks through Tire Rack and Michelin confirmed it's the same tire even without the N-rating on the sidewall. Another Michelin rep confirmed it as well at Road Atlanta. Now, there's always the possibility that's just in the 265/35/19 size but I suspect Michelin has discovered some manufacturing economies and does it with other sizes as well.

I don't even have to check that link to know the Cup tires are different vs. n-rated tires. And I know that the ContiSport tires are different n-rated vs. regular tires in the same size.

I didn't say cup tires are different than n-rated... but the two exact Michelin Cup tires at the same size are totally different between the N-rated and the non.
I can't imagine why they would design a different N-rated cup, but leave PS2s totally the same.
At least my rear tires don't come non-N rated. 305/30R19 is only N-rated.
