DIY shifter install
I just ordered the turbo shifter from Suncoast for my 06 C4S. Before I go start ripping stuff apart does anyone have any practical advise or DIY instructions? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what a turbo shifter is, but I installed a factory ssk on my last car and took photos of the process. If that is what you're looking for, PM your email and I'll send them to you. It is not super difficult, but you have to be patient and careful when removing the existing shift ****, console, etc. The nice thing about the factory SSK is that unlike the B&M, you don't have to break anything apart. You just replace the whole shifter cage unit.

if you bought the short/sport shift kit :

I had the OEM ss installed at a local independent shop "The Porsche Specialist" in the Philly area and I was charged only $80. I was told the charge would be $120 if the ss housing was not supplied which would require modification to the existing housing.

The BMracing link is really confusing if you are doing this in a 997. While the basics are similar, the interior difference will throw you off a little here and there. Overall IMHO it is a very easy install, but 1st time around can take a couple of hours as you will be taking your time and trying to keep track of your screw locations, etc.
What I will say though, if you do not have the entire housing and are installing just the shift lever in your existing housing, you do need to use a hammer and chisel to knock the ears off the old bushings so you can get them out. Not pretty, but very easy to do (make sure to wear eye protection as those little ears will shoot out of there with some force, lol). IMHO using a utility knife to cut those out is recipe for disaster. A sharp chisel works much better. In reality it takes an extra 2 minutes of work if you are putting the SS lever in your existing console.
