PCM 3.0 Retrofit. Old unit what to do with?
Have replaced my single CD/DVD PCM 3.0 with one with Nav and internal changer PCM 3.0 and wonder if my old PCM 3.0 has any value for sale or use by anyone? What would be the best selling price for it? Would it be useable by a non PCM 3.0 2009-20010 car whose owner wanted to step things up a bit?
Maybe I'll ebay it? Thoughts? If anyone is interested PM me.

Does it fit 997.1 Elextronics? If so, it may be of value to 997.1 people.

If "phone prep" is in the 07/08, does that mean my iphone WILL or will NOT work?
I want to know what I'm getting into and regardless of the specific car, it'll be an all the time driver except for work but I'll take trips and such with my fiance so we like the better nav, phone use, etc. cell phone use by hands free is a mandatory law now where we spend most of our time.
Sorry if these are obvious answers.

I don't think 07/08 (which is 997.1) PCM supports Bluetooth, so you cannot use your iPhone with in the car. Factory Bluetooth became available with '09 or later models (997.2). I believe most 997.1 owners use Tooki for Bluetooth connection.

So far yes...wife's Cayenne S has PCM 3.0 and it is a step above PCM 2.1 which I had in my 05 Carrera. So while aftermarket would have been good and had more functionality than OEM likely it would have taken away some of the value of the car too. So PCM 3.0 works pretty good. However it did take a few trips to the dealer to get the PCM codes straightened out as they came from Germany.
Yes that's about right. Figure I'd loose almost as much in value ($1500) on the car ripping out PCM 3.0 to put an aftermarket in which would cost me $1500 to do an aftermarket purchase and install.
Yes you are right. 997.1has not bluetooth so you can pull the PCM 2.1 and do an aftermarket OR by the Cartronics modules for what would be a about 1/2 the price it seems of the PCM 3.0 retrofit. http://www.cartronics.com/Porsche.html
Plan on keeping the car so figured it as an investment in my future satisfaction.

I'm learning about MY and which parts are named what but does this simply mean that an 07/08 car, with it's version of nav pcm, would NOT be able to have the new one swapped in place???
