997.2 aero kit question
I bought a MY09 C2S. I couldn't find one with an aero kit, so I bought one from a Porsche dealership. The PN is 997.044.802.00. The dealership said it would fit a MY09 but while searching through previous posts, it seems I have read that a aero kit for a 2005 an on, would not work.
On Porsche's website, I thought I saw that this PN would work.
Before I waste time and money I wanted to get an opinion.

The old aero kit will NOT work on the 997.2... I just spent 30 minutes back in parts with our parts manager trying to get on the blower with PCNA parts to get the number for the new kit and no such luck yet.

Correct the .1 aero kit will not work with a .2 car. Different rear deck and different front such as the .2's LED driving/blinker section.

I thought I read the tail will work if you cut out another air inlet..... There is a thread on 6speed about a tuner using the GT3 decklid on a 997.2 after he cut out the inlet.

Yeah I think you coul dcut the deck lid...just be sure the other already open space in the deck lid lines up with the opening to the air box.

You have a car with superb aero performance as is. You should not destroy it adding the 'aero kit' from a previous model that will not fit and work from an aero perspective. If you want the 'aero kit' get the correct one.

I agree, I just put the aero kit in the "for sale" section. I was just being lazy since I couldn't get a dealer to tell me the new aero was available.

Any luck on the new part number yet? I notice that the catalog says it will be available 01/2010. I did see that you can order a 2010 car with the Aerokit Cup - Option XAA. Anyone seen this installed on a car yet?

I went to the Porsche USA web site and clicked on Build your Porsche. In the options tab, under exterior section, you can click on Aero Kit and it will be added to the car illustration at the top of the page.
You can also order just the front bumper.
It would seem the kits will be or are available very shortly as no date is given.

The aero is available now. I just received a call from my Porsche dealer and it will be here in 2-3 weeks. Coming from Germany. I know Suncoast has them on their website at this point and is ordering them for their customers.
