First 997s buy - need advice!
#16
Hell again. I'm very surprised for such helpful answers - thank you very much! Actually I live in Lithuania (Baltic States) and nearest Porsche dealer is at Ryga (~300 miles away). But they don't have any cars in stock to let you test drive. But I'll try to contact Avis and ask them for 997 rent in Germany.
What is important to clearly understant my situation - I will import this car to Europe, this means that Porsche warranty from USA seller is useless and more or less I'm on risk buying used car. Also I need to pay about 30% taxes from buying value, so buying price is important for me.
I found very nice and clear looking 2005 Porsche Carrera S 6-sp manual for ~37.000$ with 68.000 miles on clock. Seller is private, send me high resolution photos, everything seems like new. So for me this seems very good deal and after that I'll have about 8.000$ for repairs or upgrades if I need some. I read about M96 engine problems, but if I clearly understant you can do IMS upgrade for about ~1.500$ + work and that's it, problems solved? What also important to check for 2005 C2S?
Thank you!
