Help me "name my price" '10 gt3
here is the car

Wanted euro delivery but there are no more U.S. allocations for 2010 per regional manager of PCNA. Furthermore, he purports that he has seen no earned allocations for 2011 GT3s for the entire U.S. (cue MJones?)
no I do not want a 6 cd changer but what can you do?
any opinions on where to start?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I know this is not the 997GT2/3 forum but I figured it would get more play here

No word about MY11 production or allocations.
There are approx 70 cars on the ground around the US from which to choose from..
Here is a link to a car that a 6speeder is selling...980mi...MSRP 134 asking 125
Close to you in PA

You need to look again. But then, you probably would only keep the car 2-3 years so then the expense wouldn't be justified. If you keep the car and track it then the PCCBs are important to have, vice iron rotors.

Apart from the known weight savings (44 lbs total), has anyone been able to quantify real world performance differences (faster lap times, shorter braking distances etc)?? No theories or hot air please.
Also PCCBs can actually be very cost prohibitive for track use. Who really wants a $16k brake job on their list of consumable items. Cost vs performance simply is not worth it DEs.
And if I were racing in an unlimited class, well then, no, I wouldn't choose PCCB either. I'd go for real carbon ceramics.

The '10 GT3 has larger, improved iron brakes (including 15" rotors up front). I have never seen any claims of shorter stopping distances for the PCCBs, nor can I imagine needing any more brakes for the street than the current iron brakes I have on my car.

Counter point, if I were specifying a car for the track, I wouldn't pick PCCB. If the only car available had PCCB, I'd pull the rotors and put on some steel preplacements. Reason: Performance, pad choice, consumables cost, etc. Of course there's a market perception about PCCB, which is fine - thus saving the ceramic rotors for some day down the road if I were to trade in.
P.S. to Peer - did you intend to post this in the GT3 section? If so, let me know and I'll be happy to move it there for you.

I have no idea about pricing but I do know that as of about two weeks ago, Hoehn Porsche in Carlsbad, CA had a 2010 GT3 that has been on their lot for quite some time... months, I think... I don't recall how it was equipped but their website (www.hoehnporsche.com) has an inventory feature that will help you check that out. I had a great buying experience with them and my guess is that since that car has been on the lot for so long, they're probably willing to negotiate.

Why is there an ever increasing frequency of taking posts off topic to have the same old tired pissing matches about things like PCCB.
Give it a friggin break people. This place has gone to the birds.

Thanks for the lively discussion, I was leaning towards steel based on the spirited debates of the past.
We are at 4% under msrp as opening bid from dealer.
Coochas, I have to try to keep up with you and in a perfect world would keep the cab but I think I would trade it (we do have 4 garage bays and now only 3 cars which just does not feel right). The kids are divided on the issue but the 5 month old has yet to weigh in.
