Default Wheel Confusion...

Can anyone confirm that these wheels will fit my 05 997c2 with no problems? I think they may be C4 wheels but I'm not sure. In the picture the rear wheels seem "dished" more than my current wheels. I thought C4 wheels were all 19".
Any help would be appreciated as I'd hate to buy them and find out they don't fit properly. Thks...

Wheels and Tires Details:

Front Wheel: Part #: 997-362-136-00 Size: 8.0Jx 18 Offset: 57 Front Tire Size: 235/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport. Speed Rating 91Y. Tire Tread Remaining: 98%.

Rear Wheel: Part #: 997.362.142.00 Size: 11Jx 18 Offset: 51 Rear Tire Size : 295/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport. Speed Rating 91Y. Tire Tread Remaining: 75-80%.

Per the manual the fronts are an exact fit. The manual doesn't show an 11x18 option for the Carrera or S, the 10x18 has a 58mm offset and the 11.5x19 has a 67mm offset. The wheel you ask about will be pushed out in the rear, but I can't tell if it will rub against the body.

The front tire size is fine, but the rear is under-rated. Spec for the rears is 101Y (18 inch), 100Y (19x11) or 102Y (19x11.5). All three should be XL as well. The only "lesser" rated tires are the snows.

A 51mm offset on an 11" wide wheel, is for a wide body car. They will not fit your N/B C2.

i tend to disagree, i have 11.5+48 right now and they sit flush under the fender on a NARROW body... with 305 wide tires..

fronts i run 8.5+48

next set of wheels im going 8.5/11.5+44

Thanks guys....I think...

I did a thread search on this topic and the results were pretty much the same.

Some say you can , some say you can't. I guess it will cost me $2000 to find out...

I guess I should have been more specific in my comment. They will fit on your car, but they will not fit properly (a.k.a completely inside the wheel well) on your N/B C2.

If you want a cheaper alternative to finding out if you like the way they would fit, buy a set of 15mm spacers and install them on your car (will also need longer bolts). Then you can judge for yourself if you are comfortable with the fit.

11.5+48 and completely under the fender... not protruding, on 305 wide tires..

difference between 11+51 and 11.5+48 is 9.35mm, so even if you argue mine are not "flush" as i say they are but still UNDER the fender... the wheels he is looking at are 9.35mm further in than mine, couple that with the fact i have 305 and he will have 295.. thats 14.35mm further in on the tire (the par that actually matters)

my car is lowered however, around 30mm from non S stock susp.. so around 10mm lower than sport pasm, or about the same as GT3

Thks for that. It looks like I should have no trouble if your experience is taken into account.

I am running 15 mm spacers on my 67mm rear 11x19 OEM Carrera S rims on my 09 Carrera S, and they fit fine - maybe just a hair wider (2mm) than I prefer vs. the fender although they look fine. I would say the 51 mm will fit if you don't mind them a hair wider

Do a search here and on the other boad about Turbo offset/rims on a narrowbody. They do work and you'll find pics. You can also see pics of my spacers in a search that will help you with what a 52mm offset looks like

rijowysock, I've never seen meisters on any P-car!! they look awesome and I think you have perfect offsets which makes the *** shot look that much more aggressive. Beautiful car you have!

The jury is in and the verdict is....they fit!!!

Wheels arrived yesterday and I put them on right away. Lots of clearance on the inside and they do not protrude on the outside. That is one pile of rubber meeting the road.
