Help! Which colour for my wheels?
Some advice needed..
My car is a Meteor Grey Carrera S with the standard Carrera S wheels.
I am a bit tired of the aluminium plain colour and thinking about respraying..
Choices:
GT silver like the Sports wheels
A darker grey almost black
Charcoal powder-coated finish
Black
Looking forward to new ideas..

Personally I dislike dark or black wheels. They look dirty all the time. They also show brake dust etc. far more than lighter colors - the same problem as a black car in fact.
Maybe consider whichever grey is used on the non-polished part of the 997.1 Turbo wheels. AFAIK they're Meteor Grey. They have no bi-weekly brake dust cleaning annoyances. Yes they need cleaning but never as much as the standard silver used on German wheels.
I feel the black wheels on lighter colors is now played out.
Black on Black well that's a different story as you can go for the dark mean and aggressive look.

I have meteor gray Targa 4S and in my opinion the best color is the gray one as on OEM Sport wheels (don't know how they call it).
I'm attaching the picture so you can see my combo, the wheels are a bit dusty as this was taken on some back road in Provence.
I've seen several meteor gray cars with color matching Sport wheels, also great combo.

Plus, there's much less of a brake dust annoyance with that color wheels.
I'm planning on getting the Carrera Sports I just picked up used (but are painted black) refinished OEM- GT Silver with brushed rims. I am planning on aking them to a well-known local wheel shop, but I have no idea if they know exactly what the GT Silver color is. Without a sample to go off of, what is the best way to come up with the right color to reference?
whoa whoa WHOA, what??? seriously...that cant be true can it??? i know about the black car phenomena (ive owned 2...never again!) but cars are gloss black - whereas wheels are usu matte - and i would assume show more dirt because of that finish, right? point being i am finally close to buying a 2nd set of a wheels and i have settled on black. i love the look but ALSO because ive grown tired of the constant brake dust cleaning of my stock lobsters. i just fig'd matte black wheels wouldnt show it as much. ???
I had a Black C2 with silver rims. As everyone knows, it is a constant battle to keep the car and rims from looking dirty. I switched to a GT Silver C2S with black Carrera Sport rims and what a relief. The brake dust showed more on my silver rims than on my current black rims. Also, the black rims make a good contrast to the silver color of the car.
