New 2008 C4S?
Was just in my local dealer (Porsche of Farmington Hills, MI) and they have a new 2008 C4S in the showroom! IIRC it is Carrera white with red interior and black carpets - looks great. Has white painted wheels from the factory also. I recall Sport Chrono and badge delete, but can't recall the other equipment. MSRP was around $109k and they're asking around $85k now.
I'm not in the market for a new car, but tempted by this... what do you all think of the price given that it is new?

997.1? probably you can negotiate it down as I've seen 997.2 sold in 80s.

I'd go for $70k and maybe you could get it for $75k. So this is a new untitled no miles 08 still in stock?

it is new from a title perspective but I suspect the vehicle has already been put into service - in other words the warranty is already ticking on the car. Porsche doesn't allow a car this old to be sitting in inventory. What you need to do is ask the dealership what the in-service date is.

The dealer that I just bought my car from has a 2008 cab on the floor, White with blue interior and top. Never titled O miles. I think there are more out there than you think.

I'm really not likely to take a run at this, as I am enjoying my '07 C2S just fine. I just don't know how they expect to sell it with it not on the website, not advertised, and being a low volume dealership. (If someone reading this thread wants to buy it, I won't be offended).

Another negotiating issue that you can use is that the MY08 C4S cars are the last of that design. When the 997.2 cars came out, the 4WD versions adopted a substantially more sophisticated 4WD system over that of the 996 4WD and 997.1 4WD cars--to include the turbos. The older 4WD system utilizes a viscous clutch arrangement, which the MY09 and newer cars use an electronic control--more akin to the 959 cars and the early 964 4 cars. In those early years Porsche elected to take a step back when they found their electronics were just not reliable enough. As a result, the 993 turbos used the viscous clutch as did the 996 and 997.1 all wheel-drive cars. This is a substantial difference. If I were in the market for a 4WD car I would await an 09 or 10. But that's just me. Use this information to your advantage to gain a price break. Remember, if that was such a great car, others would have snapped it up by now. There is something going on with that car that has caused it to sit. Perhaps it's a stripped car, with few options. For example, there is no navigation, and no mention of leather, other than seating. As I read through the list of options it's clear to me--pretty basic. I.E., stripped. BTW, the color is known as "Carrara" white. As in Carrara, Italy, the region known for its marble in that color. It's a nice color combination.

That's it. The interior is not nearly so bright or orangish in person - looks just great. There is a tag hanging from the mirror now with IIRC $84,900 or so as the current ask.
Thanks to uvgaal for hunting down the dealer's other web page - - I always look at their Porsche page where they don't show this vehicle at all.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the car other than its a very unusual color combination around here (this is the silver on black market). And the wheels might put some off (I'm not in love with them) although they're pretty easy to swap out. Agree re the 4WD systems as well, Dan.

I'd stay away. If they still have the $10k on the '09 C4 variants, you could get very close to this discount on a newer, better car. More importantly, cars are meant to be driven. This one could have a manufacture date over two years ago. God knows the last time it was started. That means moisture sitting in the exhaust, seals and gaskets getting hard and cracking, tires getting flat spots, and so on.
Edit: I wouldn't pay any more for this than I would for a well-maintained, responsibly driven one with 20k. I would make an offer accordingly, which would be refused, because someone will buy this one because it has no miles. This car is unused, but it is NOT new.
