From then on, I made a point of watching it each time I started and I would say that every 5th or 6th time (I can't be exact) I saw the clock 'lose' a minute.
Did you check you voltage? Is cars` battery fully charged?
Try to let it charge 100% and then check if it does the same or not.

I could only find info in the manual which discussed user updates of the clock. If what you say is correct, it would explain why the time in my factory nav equipped car is spot even after several months.

We know Draxa is British. Atr-are you a Brit too? My point being-is this a British infliction? Could there be a hideous German plan afoot?

I recall reading a thread about this slow clock issue
and one member said his dealer replaced the pcm unit
as a fix.

Mine loses about a minute a week, but never falls more than
5 minutes behind for some reason.

Thanks to GPS, mine is spot-on after 3 + years. I have checked it against WWV and it's spot on.

My dealer had to replace the PCM twice in my 2005S due to the slow clock issue. The first time they replaced it, the service manager ordered the wrong part number and ended up putting an identical PCM, with the slow clock problem, in the car. After I noticed nothing had changed and the clock kept losing 3 or 4 minutes per week, I took the car back and he noticed his mistake. They installed the updated part and I haven't had a problem since. That was 18 months ago.

So, there is an updated PCM?

Funny - It's the first thing I noticed about my 06. Does not keep time well - not even close!

I have even heard of some dealerships installing the navigation system on the older PCMs to get the clocks to run right.

Mine loses about 20 minutes (or more) every 6 months at which time I reset it. When you consider that this is worse than the standard for a good mechanical watch (4 - 6 sec/day) that is really pathetic. I don't have nav in the 911 but I do in the Benz and it consistently shows the time as being 1 minute faster than official time. Always; without modification. Since I assume that this is satellite time I have never been able to understand this.

the one in my '07 carrera S is spot on, but it is my first porsche, I have not been driving it very fast yet. It will be interesting to see at what speed the space-time continuum is disrupted.

Weird problem. Neither my Boxster (no-nav) or my Carrera (with nav) seem to lose time. The only reason I have to adjust it is when daylight savings time kicks in. Otherwise it stays within a minute of the correct time year round.

Beats the odometer being off. A 996 I had did this to me on a lease, and 'screwed' me out of 4400 miles over the term of the lease. Porsche NA told me being off 5% was within tolerances. Whose tolerances? Certainly not the lessee!
