Default Porsche Parade - St Charles, IL - Anyone Planning On Attending?

It looks like the annual Porsche Parade will be at Pheasant
Run Resort near Chicago this year, beginning July 3d.

Is anyone planning on attending? And for those who have
attended in the past, what are your thoughts.

Personally, I haven't been a big fan of Parades. While I enjoy Porsches, I'm just not that crazy about the Parades. Just a little TOO much focus on merely Porsche and Porsche things. Even when they're close to me I don't get inspired to attend. Been to one in Dallas/Ft Worth in the 1980s, and then was the Worker Chairman for the 1991 Boston Parade staff, but find them boring. Some people absolutely love them, and go year after year--usually to seek out old friends from throughout the Porsche community. When they have them in nicer places it can be very tempting. But St. Charles, Il? Places with beautiful mountain roads would be far better!

It's a 'resort' Parade rather than a city.....I consider that an upside.
Golf courses make for good concour venues......I'm not a golfer

Kinda wish it was some place more interesting, but that's me, living in the mid-west. But as they say, it's about the people (and their cars)....so the location should not matter.
It's the 1st Parade produced by the national versus a specific region(s).

Haven't decided if I go......or just drive in for a day or 2 of events.......I've attended 6 or 8 through the years.....most quite enjoyable.

I plan on going to some of the events. I grew up in St. Charles, so I figure it is a good reason to get together with some friends. Plus there look to be some good events going on throughout the week.

I live in St. Charles, so no reason not to go to a few events.

I am planning on going... maybe just a couple of days. Would like to have my 993 in the Concours (performance modified) to show it off as I was not able to have the car ready at the 2008 Parade.

It is only about 13 hour drive.

Euroquipe in St. Charles did the TPC Supercharger install back in 2004.

The organizers should provide more opportunity to show cars on Sunday Concours day.
There are many exceptional cars at Parade....but on Concours morning, many are parked on the street or back at the condo.
Everyone is not into Concour prep yet they travel to Parade with pretty exceptional vehicals......they are neat to see, and it's neat to talk to the owners.

I missed last year.....did they do that last year?

Anyway.....it might require utilizing an adjoining fairway....fine.
Personally, I'd pay$ to be in that area (good parking spot too )....good revenue they could put the money to use elsewhere during the week.

Last year besides the cars in the concours they had part of the field (Golf course) set aside for a "Porsche corral" for those that just wanted to display their cars...... it was full.

Yep.....Jack Stephensen just replied back to me.....his link is one of those on the 2010 Parade site.......he says there will be a Corral.....he hopes 100-200 cars could be parked there......great.
