I'd listen to this advice and offer him $35k. Even $38k would be a sweet deal.

Thanks Phil! I just bought it from Champion Porsche in FL. They were asking alot more but because this is a more "base" Carrera I think they were more willing to negotiate. I stole it! I stole it! Hehe...I'm rather chuffed as its my first Porsche.

Its a funny thing because reading alot of the posts on here guys all seem to want full options or all of the goodies. I thank them for doing so because cars like mine keep falling in value (if you can find one!).

@Rodsky & RollingArt, thanks for your explanations - I always wondered about that. I will look forward to impressing random local 911 owners with that bit of trivia, and will also look forward to their befuddled looks as i step into my lowly subaru wagon

Someday down the road a bit when your tastes change you will come to appreciate the options. My first 911S, many many years ago was virtually stripped. Above the standard options I could afford very little. As I recall all I added was Bilstein shocks, cruise control, a right hand mirror, and black trim. The next car was loaded (and used a bit) and I came to appreciate all that odoriforus leather!

We have a couple of names for cars like that. Some in the state call them Frankensteins, and in Germany we would call them "Scheiße Porsches."
