Is a 2005 with round headlights a true 997?

I honestly believe this image below represents absolute peak of 911 true sport influenced design without decisions added now by emissions legislature and other crap governments invent for their own amusement.

the 997.1 represents the peak of 911 development. Environmental issues, carbon credits, and Nobel Prize slush funds were begun shortly after the arrival of the 997.2. Hold onto those 997.1 cars!

Reminds me of this scene from an Austin Powers movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTm2EgmY-6c

I'll tell you about clueless, the guy who sold me my car, advertised it on Autotrader, didn't know the color and advertised it as 'special blue'. He could have said the only one in the country, probably, but didn't know any better. OK so he was 80 years old!

Thanks
Just want to say a big thanks to everyone who has posted back on the original question I had on this thread.
And thanks for checking out the pictures I posted and confirming that it's a true 997.
I'm a new convert to the Porsche world...having been a club racer for that other "round" German badge for quite a while.
Thanks for helping this Porsche newbie.

Phil, is $39.2K for this car (with 20.5K miles) 997 money, or 996 money? Thx.

It was fitted with the four cam 1500 GS type 547 "Carrera" motor.

Offer $35k and negotiate up to $36k and you'd be getting a steal of a deal!

I don't know what the miles or condition are but the price sounds about right. An '05 base 997 would be in the 39 - 45 range for a clean car I'd say.

To give you an idea I just bought my one owner 06 Carrera (pictured here <) for $41k with 29k miles, CPO (fully certified by Porsche), recent service, and some options (heated seats, Xenon lights).

I'd listen to this advice and offer him $35k. Even $38k would be a sweet deal.

More info on this car
Hey there,
I actually negotiated on this car in early December but decided to go with the "S" instead.
While the car is listed by some guy up north, the owner apparently lives on some island and doesn't use it. I got in touch also with the Porsche dealership down in Florida who gave me the service history. There were no bad news other than that the car has already had the RMS issue fixed. I consider that to be good news since you know that is out of the way.
I thought it was a good car from my research. They were also open to having a PPI conducted as well.
Good luck!
