Wow, HUGE DROP in Cayman/Boxster... 997s not affected as much which is very intereting. More C4S sold this year vs. last year! Which mean middle class affected a lot worse than upper class, so people who could barely afford a Boxster/Cayman got out of the market, while people who could afford 911s were reduced just a bit.
Also, very surprising that more Turbo Cab is sold than Turbo coupe... basically meaning it's bought more for fun, show, than tracking!!! I didn't also know Porsche sells more 911 than Boxster/Cayman... maybe only in North America though.
Overall, if it wasn't for Panamera, the results would have been a lot worse. Probably 2010 would be similar to 2009, with slightly better numbers for Boxster/Cayman.
Thanks for posting!

I saw it at Frankfurt Auto show this year and as much as it's a super nice car, it just looks weird... for instance compare it to the new Aston Martin Rapide, which is almost exactly the same use (hatch back, 4 seats), and oh boy, was that car just GORGOUS.

And you really can't buy much of a car for $225,000.00 anymore.

When does Porsche consider a sale as made? Is it [1] when Porsche accepts an order from a dealer (possibly for inventory) or [2] when a consumer closes a purchase (possibly for a car to be built) or [3] when a car is delivered and titled?

^ no brian, a sale is when porsche puts $8-$10k in trunk money into the 911
interesting surge in CPOs from 20% of base to 25% esp considering the pop from the Panamera. revenue on those sales is probably neutral to a dealer vis-a-vis new car sales depending the maintenance required to get it to CPO condition, but not so great for porsche.

The Panamera (in my opinion) is a very ugly car. I have seen it in person inside and out and have also seen it on the road multiple times in the last month. Then again, i thought the 996 was the ugliest Porsche ever made and look how many of those were sold!
Looks are subjective but there are cars out there whose looks no one quesitons. The Aston Rapide, I think, is one of them, as far as sedans are concerned.
But if I were to buy another 4-door, I might seriously consider the new Tesla Model S.
What's more surprising to me is how many Porsche SUVs people are buying!!!

My CPO 06 is one of the 477! I'm just doing my part...LOL.
Prices for used 911's are down so that will explain the increase in sales numbers for sure. More Cayenne's sold vs. 911's...that is surprising.
