Default Will 997.1 C4 18" wheels fit 997.2 C4S?

Hello, I just put a deposit on a 2009 C4S 6-speed (very good discount of over 20%). I'm in northern CT. Even though I'd try not to drive the car in the snow, I'm interested in exploring winter wheel options. I found a set of 997.1 C4 18" OEM rims for sale with the right offsets (I think) - 51mm and 57mm? I wonder if these 18" wheels should clear the 997.2 C4S brakes OK. I'm guessing yes, but I thought I'd ask the experts. Thank you in advance.

I believe so, as far as I know 997.2 doesn't have any larger brakes compared to 997.1.

The 997.2 C2S or C4S does not have larger brakes than 997.1 equivalents, but these wheels are from base C4 (non-S) 997.1, which have smaller breaks than 997.1 S models. I'm guessing the wheels should fit, but just wanted to make sure.

I run a set of 18 inch OEM rims at times on my PCCB equipped car. They clear those easily--everything else is smaller than those.

I got Carrera 3 18s on my C4S, fits with lots of room, you'd be fine.

Welcome and yes, those will work fine - I've got a friend here in Farmington that runs the 18" OEM rims with snows on his C4. Feel free to PM me.

For those of you that use 18 inch CIII's or similar on your 997 C4S', do you need to use a rear spacer to push that wheel out?

Also, does anyone know if the stock 19 inch rims that Porsche sells need spacers or do all three have the correct offset for the wider body?

TIA!

Yes, you do. I have the 17mm spacer for my Carrera Sport 19s, and used the same for the C3 18s. 20mm would probably be perfect.

So, are there different wheels made for the C4S vs. the C2/S or does Porsche just user rear spacers to push out the back end to fill up the wider rear?

Or, am I getting this mixed up?

THanks.

They DO make different wheels with different offsets for C4s vs. C2s. However, back in 2006, the Carrera Sport wheels (my OEM wheels) only came with C2 offset and if you ordered it on C4S, they supply spacer for it.

They did change this in 2008+ and 997.2, so you either get the widebody wheels or narrow body.

What's the offset on the Carrera Sport rears made specifically for the C4 cars?

Interesting, is the widebody ET51 still an 11.5 inch rear ?

BTW, NOBODY knew this, not even Porsche dealer... only Wheel Enhancement guys knew the difference and explained why there are two Carrera Sport Widebody wheels.
