So here it is. Back in the late summer, for very good practical reasons, I traded my C2S Cab for a Jaguar XF-R. The car is great at what it does and is a good GT/long distance cruiser. No regrets - it's still the right decision 7000 miles later.

So I chose to stay away from here and tried to get into the Jaguar communities, but they seem (on two websites) to be the most passive, accepting bunch I have ever met, who HATE to hear that Jaguar might have done something better in the design or build of the car. There is no debate. So OCBen, despite our differences, I missed your spirited engagement and commitment to the debate.

I felt "homesick" for Rennlist. I felt like this was a spiritual home for me even if I didn't drive a Porsche anymore. Though I can blame one Chicago based poster here for reawakening my enthusiasm for getting another 911 by letting me drive his Seal Gray T4S in the first snow storm of the year. (Somewhere in the background of those pictures is a character that looks like an aging Mutley with an Austin Powers toothy grin.)

I don;t want to be one of those characters who inhabits an "interest" website without having paid my dues but I want to come "home". Can I?

Since you're partly to blame for my 911 habit it's the least I can do. Welcome home.

Who'd have thought? You're in a jaaaaaaaaaaag and frayed sold his Porsche to buy fishing boats. It's an upside-down world. If Edgy ever changes marques it'll be the end of the universe as I perceive it.

Yes, but you must first place the words "sadly departed" by the 997S in your signature line in bold ..

Why not! You know the place, you know the cars, have had them, will prob have them again in the future, you are an enthusiast, your Jag is a "R", etc.; you certainly seem to fit in around here

As you probably already know, but in just in case, just don't start a thread on oil or break-in or the "correct" tranny, etc. Been there, done that

LOL! Isn't that the truth. Perhaps that would make a good topic on the Jaguar forum.

Around here the pecking order seems to be determined by how high up you are on the Porsche food chain , determined by the HP for the racers , or the number of options for the posers.
How do they do that over at Jaguar ?
Do they count the number of burls in the dash ?

Welcome back Chef!
In my mind, this is simply a forum for enthusiasts and a few nut jobs, so pick your side and welcome back.

I agree. That was exactly my experience when I drove a C6 for a year. I suggest though that we do not demean LeChef's Jag choice, the same way you guys derided my Vette choice.

Mission accomplished! We both know it's only a matter of time before your next P-car. Just trade in a few of your Blancpains and Langes for that 996 you were telling me about.

BTW, it's meteor grey.

Too late. The "Shaguar" has already been thoroughly demeaned around the office.
