Default SNOW!

Two months ago we got a couple of inches but it didn't stick. Tonight its 2" to 4" and Tuesday promises more. Can't wait to take the 09 C4S (with Nokian WRs) out to play. Its always fun to learn the snow dynamics of a new vehicle!

Now, if you have sport mode, you have three different options.

normal mode/psm on
sport mode/psm on
psm off

very fun to feel how much "sport mode" allows the back to slide from normal, before psm steps-in.

Have fun!!!

These are terrific cars in the snow--particularly the 2WD ones!

Note to self. This is not an S4. Much learning to be done and much fun to be had.

The only real trick is finding a parking lot where you are CERTAIN there are no concrete parking blocks/curbs or other obstacles under those 5 inches of snow.... ;-)

I'm up in Omaha right now as it snows.

I took the 997 up here yesterday when it was sunny and 45 degrees
and perfect for a spirited drive.

Now I'm going to have to drive back to Lincoln 45 miles away
tomorrow morning in three or so inches of fresh powder.

Should be interesting....

Hope you made it back to LNK fine. Tomorrow should be REALLY interesting -- 13" predicted.

No snow here yet (N. Idaho). I hope we don't get any, I don't like dealing with it.

The C2 without snow tires is absolutely worthless in the snow--surprise, surprise. It, literally, will not move through two inches of snow.

I had to fetch a ride back down to LNK this morning and
let the P-car sit in my girlfriend's garage in Omaha.

Range Rover to the rescue.

About 1 inch on the ground here tonight but 8 inches expected Wednesday. Mander, I'm also equipped with a 4S shod with Nokians. I am a bit concerned about the 295 rears though, too wide for a snow tire in my book. Still, this is what Porsche suggests as a winter wheel and tire package so we'll see.

As I just found out the C4S is worthless in snow. I was unable to make it up some hills in my neighborhood. I got half way up, stopped, then slid back to the bottom at a high speed with little or no control.

Even the ABS didn't work properly, just locked the wheels up.

Finally it started working after going down my 4th hill.

The other issue, since they reprogrammed the transmission it wanted to shift to 2nd gear @ < 10mph so I had to put it in manual mode and sport mode.

But all 4 wheels turn at the same time, unlike some 4WHD vehicles.

Do you have snow tires on your 4S?

I have Michelin Alpin PA2 and it handles great in snow, up and down hills. If you still have the summer tires you aren't going anywhere far.
