Default Exotic car with 409k miles!!!

Pretty amazing. 1991 Acura NSX.

Who has a 911 or other Porsche cars with more than 400k miles?

Actually, there are are several 911SC and 3.2 liter Carreras out there with that kind of mileage on them.

I seem to recall an Excellence article about a porsche with 800k miles, albeit that was over 35 years.

My attention span is WAY to short to put 400k miles on a car.

My 08 C2S replaced a 1998 NSX. The P car is light years ahead in many ways (as it should be) but that NSX was absolutely bulletproof and I'm sorry to say didn't squeek or rattle the way my Porsche does.

I'm pretty comfortable that the drivetrain on my Porsche will last quite a long time, I'm much less comfortable with the electronics and some of the other doo dads..

Wow, 409K since 1991, averaging about 23K miles per year. I've never seen a 964 or 968 ('92-'95) or 951 advertised with that kind of mileage.

yes, amazing and very reliable, but NSX is not an exotic car at all.

He did not say in the ad if it is the original motor.

Some people will disagree, NSX coulb be consider an exotic by many. Around my work there are over a dozen P-cars, where only a few NSXs and they get more attention around here than my beloved 997.
One of my employees have NSX and getting off it gracefully takes some getting used to it. Actually very similar sitting position to the Gallardos.

I can appreciate anyone not being a fan of the NSX but I honestly can't understand how any unbiased person would think that the NSX wasn't an exotic car. It's every bit an exotic.

don't want to argue, nothing wrong with NSX and I don't dislike it, but it is not an exotic as far as I'm concerned.

It is not hard to get, does not produce any performance that other cars can't match, and it is not a dream car for majority of people. Just because it is now out of production, and its shape looks good or different does not qualify it to be an exotic in my dictionary. Maybe it is one of the first car that has a lot of aluminium makes it somewhat unique, but that's different than being an exotic.

But again, this is not meant to start an argument as nobody needs to agree with me.

BTW how do you define exotic?

I would define an exotic as a sports car with very limited production, which handles exceptionally well and uses advanced technology. The NSX, on all those counts, is an exotic. The technology was way ahead of its time when the car came out. The fact that Honda really stopped developing the car, and by 2005 there were only evolutionary changes over the 1991, is another matter.

A Ferrari 308 isn't that hard to get either. Nor is a Countach with a blown engine. You wouldn't call them exotics? A new stock C2 would outrun them on any track.

Not only, but Ferrari saw the NSX as a direct threat and consequently was stimulated to up it's game.
