UPDATE:
Checked the tires this morning & one did have a shard of glass in it, too bad it couldn't have been in the tread. I removed the glass with tweezers, but there appears to be a little still in there.

Please take a look at the photos and advise, should I leave it alone, or is there anything that can be done considering it's not leaking?
Even if tire remains inflated I'd try to pick the glass out of the cut.

With glass shards still in tire, the less you drive on the tire the better.

Pulling into a motel parking lot late one night I ran over beer bottle with my VW Golf TDi and fortunately tire suffered no real damage but the odds are probably 50/50 avoiding serious damage to tire.

Once you get glass out mark tire sidewall where damage is and then visit your local Porsche dealer and have tech take a look at tire to see how deep cuts are. Even if tire's abilty to hold air not yet affected if cuts deep enough tire could be in need of replacing. Trouble is, other tire may need replacing too if tires have more than 30% wear.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I guess I can give them a call or take a ride to Kittery,ME. Thanks for the info. Can't find any around here right now.

PS that sux about the tire, I hope this is the only time jealous people strike you.
Get the sticker "insured by S&W" or Seecamp in this case.

I had a similar event last week, rode over a small plastic container in the dark. I monitored TPMS and sure enough, by the next day there was an 8 lb pressure drop in the tire.
I could see the plastic shard in the tread.
Took it to the tire tech, a plug repair cost me 40.00.
I know the tire is now compromised, but will be replacing the set in a few months, and I plan no tracking prior to that.

Looking at your photos, I suggest you take that last piece of glass out and show the tire to your dealer/tire specialist. These tires have very thin walls...

With the current administration preaching class warfare this kind of stuff is going to get worse.

Thanks for posting the photos.

A visit with your tire technician certainly seems to be in order. Please let us know the outcome.

Next time, park around the corner. Don't park so close to the bar

I actually go to this place to eat (not drink). Their kitchen is open till 1 AM and when I get out of work (often after MN) it's the only thing open and I'm famished. I park as close as I can.

Anyway no signs of air leak 2 days later. I'm getting ready to swap the tires out for the winter season anyway.

Sorry to hear...hopefully it won't amount to anything.

This is why I alway do a walkaround the 911 when I'm parked in a public garage...mostly to look for dings (or worse). Making a mental note to check for debris under the car moving forward.
