It's a good change and exactly what I wanted. I've had other exhausts on my cars in the past and have had to remove them due to the ear-bleeding noise, the looks from the neighbors, etc. The beauty of this system is it makes gains, deepens the sound, increases the sound, but in a good way. Paul - you'll love it - I installed mine yesterday (~ 2 hours), it's the perfect note for those who want sporty but not loud or boomy.

Nice deeper rumble at idle, throatier in heavy acceleration, but wife approved and tame when driving at 5/10s. I also immediately felt like the motor was breathing/revving better, and the butt dyno believes theres a small gain.

Truly a nice product, and Alex appears to have lowered the price a bit.

By the way, forgot to mention perhaps the best change:

Significantly less annoying "fart can" diesel sound just off idle! This was a huge turnoff for me with the new car - happy to say it's just a muted snarl now.

Dumb question - but does it affect warranty? Also no CEL or other issues by doing change? And OG - do you have it on yet?

It doesn't void warranty and no CEL. I installed my Sharkwerk pipes 3 months ago and l love the sound; a nice gentle growl. My advise during the installation. Make sure there isn't excessive contact between the pipes and the support plate for the middle resonator. Because this will create annoying vibration in the cabinet. Also torque the bolt properly. The flange bolts are at 35, others at 18. It took me 2 hours the first time without jacking up the car.

My pipes are arriving tomorrow. I was planning to bring my car over to a buddy's house over the weekend and use the lift. If I can install the pipes without lifting it, i would do the deed tomorrow when the pipes arrive. Did you raise the car at all?

Also interested to know if there's any major differences between the various aftermarket 997 exhausts (Sharkwerks, Tubi, etc.) out there, and which might be considered "best bang for the buck"?

Rambler, try a search on 997.2 exhaust and you'll find a wide variety of opinions on what the different concepts do. There's primary bypass (Sharkwerks), other makers of the same idea (some cross over, some don't), there are systems where the OEM primary remains and the "suitcase mufflers" are replaced, there are some where those secondary mufflers are eliminated, etc. Each has implications.

Me, I found the primary bypass as the best of all worlds. Removes some restriction, so better sound and performance. Inexpensive and easy to swap.

EDIT: Could someone clarify the difference between 997.1 and 997.2 for me? Sorry for the noob question, but I'm curious what my 2007 911 is.

No, I didn't raise the car the first time. But I am only 5'7" and it was tight under the car. However the last time I reinstall the pipes I did jack the car on the left rear side and it did make it easier. I used the 2 tons floor jack.
