I would like to add an illuminated door sill in my 997.2. Does anybody have any instructions or know where to find one, or has installed these before in theirs?
Thanks so much!

I had mine installed at the factory. I ran across an instruction set for the 997.1 (Carbon fiber Composite Sill Cover/Illuminated ENU 6807) on renntech.org in the TSB section, but it's unfortunately too big to upload here. Should be a similar level of effort. Others who have done the install themselves indicated that you do need to go into the door in order to connect the wiring to the door switch so that they turn on and off. Most of them say it's a bit of a pain to run the wiring for a DIY job.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
I've just received the DIY instructions from Ryan over at Suncoast and, like wwiliams88 has stated, you'll have to remove the speakers in the door panel to route the wiring to the door switch.

The other big issue I have heard is how difficult it is to remove the doublestick tape that secures the original one. Make sure you clean it off completely.

I had these installed on my Cayman S... I thought I could do it myself until I looked through the instructions and felt the wiring was to extensive for me to do. I had the dealer install it took 2 hours!

I've used 3M adhesive remover with success when debadging a car. Should work for the double sided tape on this project, too.

The residue left by the paint is a pain... In fact, the entire install is a pain, lol. I'm actually suprised a dealership only charged an hour per side to do it!

Okay....what's the best way to remove the original door sills? Looking for some ideas..hair dryer, heat gun, any suggestions from someone who knows from experience.
Thanks,
Harvey

I haven't done it myself, but there is an article over on Planet 9 that describes a method using monofilament. Take a look here:
Thanks, it looks like a lot simpler that I thought.
