New member.
I just bought a new 2009 Carerra - 1st Porsche.
Sold off a vintage Corvette that I had for a long time, as time went on I got tired of the rattles, leaks, and it just had lost it's fun appeal.
The Carrerra wil be my back-up dailey driver.
Looking forward to posting on this board, sharing/receiving information, and benfiting from the wealth of knowledge and experience that is here.

Welcome aboard, and thanks for choosing the Rennlist to learn about the P-car. You'll soon discover the reliability of these cars, and how they can wind up becoming the daily driver! I got addicted to Porsches at age 19. I think it's more expensive an addiction than certain drugs...

Welcome aboard, indeed. I must say...my cousin has a Vette (maybe an '06?), and he can rattle off the stats about the horsepower, etc. But, I took it for a spin near my neighborhood, and found myself practically sideways on a simple left-hand turn. So, my sense is they are great for straightaways, but not so fun for turns. THAT'S what makes a Porsche so GREAT in my opinion--not the straightaways, but the curves and turns...these babies hold! Enjoy your new relationship with Porsche, and as others will tell you...Get out and DRIVE!

I owned a string of Corvettes back in the 60's since my Dad was a Chevy dealer. Then in 1973 I drove a Porsche 911 and found out what handling was REALLY all about ! I fell in love with the car, bought it and now am on my 5th Porsche, a 2007 997 C4S. PORSCHE : THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE .

Had a few options, but I did not want anything like navigation, full leather, PDK etc.
Had @ 800 miles on it (was never titled) was used by owner of the Porsche Franchise.
Paid 62K for this.
Here is a link to the vinatge vet I sold.
