Mostly likely you are triggering the unlock mechanism to the trunk with the key in your pocket. Highly common.

your dealer can delay the key opening the trunk by 3 sec i think....it was easy.

Although I've never been a fan of the lobsters they definately look best in black.

Yes, I did have the key in my pocket when its happened, but how is this happening? I know no buttons on the key were being pressed at the time. And would this still be an issue I can take care of under warranty?

It's not really considered a warranty issue. What is happening is that the button (raised relative to the case) is getting pushed when you bend over or do something. The dealer can take care of this for you for nothing (if they are nice). OR, you can install a SmartTop chip which will allow you to delay the time it takes to trigger it. I wouldn't recommend the SmartTop to Coupe owners, but it is essential for cab owners.

Thanks xraydog. I believe Basalt black is metallic, so if that's the case then it's the regular black (non-metallic).
