Default HomeLink Buttons question

Do your HomeLink buttons match mine or the manual?? I have a 09 C4S Cab, built April 09 and delivered last day of August. In the manual the buttons from left to right are 3 - 2 - 1 - LED however my car is 2 - 3 - 1 - LED. Just trying to figure out if I have an anomaly or maybe the 09's are different than previous? TIA

Mine match the manual (3-2-1). However, it doesn't impact the functionality. The button you push during programming is matched to the function you choose. I'm using 3 and 2 for my garage doors and 1 is not programmed.

If you want it to match, just pop out the switch assembly and swap the buttons. The assembly is just clamped together. Buttons will fit either side. I discovered this during a swap of my overhead console for one in leather.

Doesn't matter on the drivers side. I popped out the buttons and actually disassembled the buttons by mistake and reassembled in the 2-3 mode when i reinstalled. Not worth the effort to change, all works fine.

Mine match the manual - although why they go from right to left is a mystery - I figured it had something to do with key on the left, engine in the back, gas cap on the front, etc...

The left one is flipped around wrong. Hopefully, that's the only thing wrong with your car! Perhaps this happened just after a beer break...I would pop it out and rotate it.

First you need to get the home link on the same frequency as your opener. Follow the directions in the manual. Use an existing and functional remote to train the homelink. Once that is done, press the smart button on the back of the drive motor and press and hold the appropriate homelink button.

It's in the manual.

1 - Put key in ignition and rotate until dash lights. Turn off DRLs. Push HomeLink buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously until LED blinks. Release. This erases any residual memories.

2 - Push the HomeLink switch you want to program until LED blinks.

3 - Go to the front of the car with your garage remote. Position the remote at the bumper's apex and push the remote until the DRLs start blinking.

Done!

Note: Repeat 2 and 3 above for other openers.

You'll still have to sync the homelink button with the main control unit if it's a rolling-code system.

I understand the functionality is fine, it was just a curious situation. Thanks for confirming what I was thinking. Hopefully this is the only thing transposed on the car.

It programed exactly as ADias states and in the manual, the specific page is attached to my original post.

Rolling code openers require you to:
1. program remote as mentioned above then
2. program again pushing the button on the garage unit to code again.
Read the manual if it doesn't work.

The funny thing is that I have a rolling code and that simple method worked perfectly.

Do those buttons work with commercial openners, like the ones in my condo building? I have a fob thing for the parkade that has a couple of buttons on it for openning different doors, but I didn't seem to be able to program them to work with Homelink during one quick attempt.

Has anyone done this?

Say what? So at no point in the process did you have to push a button on the main control unit in your garage? Wow...the .2 really is da bomb!
