P.S. - I'm an engineer too and I read manuals. Actually, I think I could re-write these manuals a lot better.

Has anyone done this?
I am also in a condo building with 2 gates controlled by one remote with 2 buttons, and I followed the instructions in the manual (same as ADias' post above), and was pleased to have programed both buttons in a couple of minutes.

hopefully that is the only intended consequence of the beer break on the assembly line. pop the hood up front and make sure they put the engine in there. sometimes they put the key on the wrong side also

i know, i know

I tried again today - no good. I guess the remote codes used in my building are outside of the range for the homelink. Too bad, would be quite convenient.

Sweet - Thank you guys - I had just filed it under the car was broken since the 1st owner never got the code to program, but I just got it done.

THANKS - I had to press the button on my "Overhead door" after the fog lights flashed - then held down the desired button inside a couple of times -

Cheers -

I couldn't get mine to work the first two times I tried. I called Homelink and they suggested changing the batteries in the handheld remote. I was very skeptical, but changed the batteries and it worked first time.

Makes sense.. the homelink reciever in the car that is trying to learn your code may want a nice, clear and strong signal to learn. The weaker one may be enough to open the garage.. the garage door trusts the remote already.... but the car is learning what your remote code is and wants to get it right.. .not the crosstalk from the neighbor.
