I am looking to buy and 4 post lift and yes a two post would be better.. but I would like to be able to have the ability to drop the engine if needed in the future. Does anyone know the minimum distance between the runways required to drop an engine?

 

What if you back the car all the way back until it hits the ramp stops. Engine will likely hang over enough to be dropped. IDK what it might do to the balance of the lift though?
